| Checking out the Hoover Dam |
This week is Hardy's and my 5th Wedding Anniversary, and what a nice 5 years it has been. I'm grateful for every day. He's a keeper, that Hardy of mine.
To celebrate, well, actually because Hardy won it from his work, we went to Las Vegas for the weekend. Some people think Vegas is gross. Ok, it is, but we had so much fun. Walking the strip or shopping in my current third trimester condition did not sound the least bit appealing to either of us, so instead Hardy and I took naps every day. We stayed up way too late each night and slept in most mornings, and I managed to read three entire books which felt totally self indugent. We stayed at the Palazzo (connected to the Venician) and I hardly even left the hotel the whole time.
Friday morning I got a pedicure at the spa and had brunch with some of the other wives on the trip while Hardy and the men golfed - a true win-win scenario. That night we had a ridiculously good meal at a place called Lavo then went to see Ray Ramano perform. He was hilarious without being overly crude. A great choice.
Thanks to Hardy's good suggestion, I headed back to the spa on Saturday morning for a "Mello Mama" massage that had my sore back feeling better than it has in months. A miracle. I was in heaven. In the afternoon we decided to drive out to see the Hoover Dam where we got our 1 photo on the trip. And as much as I enjoyed seeing the dam, it was even more fun just to talk with and enjoy the uninterupted time with my husband. We had a great dinner at Tao with our friends (because if you don't drink, gamble, or have promiscuous sex, Vegas is really all about the food) then we went to see Phantom of the Opera. It was somewhat abbreviated so Hardy was a little confused since he had never seen it before, but it was really well done.
I flew home Sunday morning to rescue Grandma from Jack (thanks mom!), and Hardy stayed for a work conference but got home tonight.
See? Vegas can be awesome. Great trip Sweetheart. Happy Anniversary!
